Garba-Fusion research - a research of Garba and contemporary
My journey
I reached out to OU dance in Milton Keynes regarding their weekly classes to teach a session on Garba-fusion. They gladly accepted, allowing me the opportunity to share my passion on the 4th of February.

Class Structure...
This time the level of participants were also mixed so I focused on delivering a class that portrayed basics of Garba and contemporary.

Warm-up
I started the class with a joint articulation warm-up that included some of the basic movement architecture of Garba in the upper and lower body.
Afterwards we did some travelling on space focusing on connection, feeling grounded to the floor, speed, creating circles on the space while travelling and I introduced some of the basic foot-patterns used in Garba.

Technique
We did some travelling phrases and working on the 3 principal elements of Garba: the clap, turn or circle and bending.
We also focused on learning a phrase in static position inspired by my solo 108 circles that would later on be included and performed into a big circle that would keep repeating.
Video Footage...
This is some video footage of this Garba-Fusion class:
Next Steps...
My upcoming task is to write a new blog post in which I will discuss my achievements, challenges, and future projects and ideas.
This class was truly special as it signified the conclusion of this project. Nonetheless, as I mentioned, it is an ongoing research endeavor that will continue to evolve.
Keep updated, almost there :)
Enjoying the process!
