Garba-Fusion research - a research of Garba and contemporary
My journey
Documenting my journey here has been a pleasure. It's been a lengthy journey filled with learning experiences and significant challenges that have greatly contributed to my growth.
I have new ideas in mind for future projects because I still would like to continue researching, learning and spreading the love for these styles, this fusion.
In the near future:
I plan to introduce my solo to residencies where I could develop it even further to present to venues in the future. I will continue researching, working and developing this new movement language and connect with the community and other Garba and contemporary artists. Would be a great idea to bring into a session Garba and contemporary dancers to work together and share ideas.
My choreographic idea for the future of Garba-Fusion is to create an immersive and interactive space for the audience to step into a ‘Garba night’. As if they were entering into the spirit of India during one day of Navratri. We would showcase the strength, beauty, colours and dynamic of Garba with a contemporary flavour.
In contrast with the solo - research I created, this piece would incorporate more dancers from the Garba and contemporary-physical theatre community to work in collaboration and to create the proper scenery.
SEE YOU SOON!
